Karen is the only Certified Consultant of the Association of Applied Sport Psychology in the greater China area. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Karen’s passion for sport and exercise psychology stems from being on the HK National Swimming Team for 6 years. Since 2011, Karen has worked extensively with athletes, including Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland Chinese record holders, as well as NCAA (Div.1), professional, collegiate and high school athletes in track and field, tennis, rugby, lacrosse, lawn bowls, fencing, trail running, soccer and swimming etc. Shortly after she earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Sport Psychology at Boston University, USA, Karen founded her own Performance and Sport Psychology company, Inner Edge Limited. She is also the Vice-President of the HK Society of Sport and Exercise Psychology.
Karen believes that the most successful athletes and performers value the power of the mind. At Inner Edge, Karen builds her own private practice working with athletes and performers who are looking to gain a psychological edge over their competitors and take their game to the next level. Clients commonly seek help from Karen when they have issues regarding: anxiety and stress management, goal setting, motivation, focus and concentration, relaxation and arousal control etc. Karen’s goal is to educate athletes, coaches and parents the importance of the mind in sport and to train them to achieve their goals through the application of mental skills.
